Burn the Map

...and the atlas and the guide book and the GPS and everything else that thinks it knows where you're going. 'Cause I'll tell you a secret, friend: They don't have a clue.

Welcome, traveler!  Is it a new world you're looking for, or perhaps a very old one?  Either way, your journey begins as soon as you click one of the links to the left (or up above, if you're inclined to the mobile devices).  Think of them as portals to other times and places... I mean, you could think of them as simple navigation buttons, but if you're going to do that, there are zillions of websites you could visit.  But you didn't.  You came here.  So saddle up, suit up, buckle up...  Grab your blaster, your sword, your spellbook...  Basically do whatever it takes to feel ready for adventure and dive into stories where no explorer or mapmaker has dared set foot.  Oh, and I almost forgot...  Where you're going, you might as well burn the map.

If you're looking for an original composition to scratch that specific fantasy or sci-fi itch, Burn the Map has got you covered.  Just submit the form to the right, and you will be contacted within 1-2 business days to discuss the particulars of your project.

Perhaps you would like to see a background story or character sketch of a favorite pen-and-paper gaming character?  Or do you have a friend or relative who is an absolute sci-fi nut and would love a piece of original fiction as a birthday gift?  The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination.

Alas, in order to read tales of the worlds where Burn the Map can send you, I have to bring them into this mundane realm...where there is all this legal entanglement to get out of the way.  Firstly and most importantly, Burn the Map is not into copyright infringement, so that means no "fan fiction" or anything that is based on work owned by somebody else.  Secondly, there is a reason the form is called "Freelance Inquiry".  Submission of the form does not entitle you to have work created nor obligate Burn the Map to create it.  After the inquiry is received, we'll get in touch via email to discuss the relevant details and try to finalize terms that are agreeable to all sides.  Burn the Map reserves the right to accept or refuse projects at its sole discretion.  *whew*  Glad we got that over with.

Let me know a ballpark figure that you were looking to invest in the project. This will primarily drive project length, based on an arcane formula derived by my crack team of legal and accounting geniuses...all of whom look suspiciously like action figures.
Specify the genre you are looking for.
Please describe your request in as much detail and clarity as possible.
